NHL FanPulse: Alex Pietrangelo isn’t winning the Norris, say people on internet

To be honest, the PHWA will probably agree with them.

The season’s a little bit away from it’s halfway point, but there’s enough data for fans to draw some conclusions about who the frontrunners for the NHL Awards are so far.

Sometimes, it’s just nice to be included in the conversation. That should be Alex Pietrangelo’s mantra every year, because every year people throw his name around there as a Norris contender, and every year it doesn’t happen. If fans voted right now, the trend’d continue.

Right now it’s looking like it’s John Carlson’s race to lose.

Craig Berube was a nominee for Jack Adams last year thanks to the Blues’ incredible mid-season turn around and could be in the race again this year if the Blues’ fight against adversity continues how it’s gone so far. Barry Trotz won last year, and he’ll probably win again this year considering his success with the Islanders. They’re second in the Atlantic Division after 26 games.

Jordan Binnington’s in the Vezina race this year, but Tuukka Rask might beat him out for the hardware.

I’m sure Binnington’s nervous.
