Devils at Blues GameDay Thread: Stars are within reach

A win tonight and a Stars loss to the Florida Panthers will put the Blues in third place in the Central Division. Not bad for a team that entered the New Year hovering around the conference basement, haunted by tanking talks.

Now that position’s held by the New Jersey Devils, who may have to face the indignity of trading Taylor Hall by the deadline and who sit 15 points out of a playoff spot (though, thanks to parity and the sad shape of the Western Conference this year, only have 9 fewer points than the Blues).

Sure, the Blues just shut out the Tampa Bay Lightning and beat the Preds in back to back games. Will the Devils pose a challenge? Could be. Can the Blues handle it? Here’s hoping.
