Tonight’s the last night that the Blues have to play the Wild this season, so barring the playoffs, I doubt many will care what they do at the trade deadline as long as they ship good players far out of the division, and preferably the conference. But a defeat at the hands of the Blues tonight could force GM Paul Fenton’s hand to ship out pending UFAs Eric Staal or Eric Fehr.
If they have to help make up Fenton’s hands, I’m sure the Blues will be happy to oblige.
Yesterday afternoon saw the Blues take down the Bruins in a six round shootout, with Sammy Blais netting the winner. The Wild are sitting riiiiight outside of the second wild card slot, but their home record hasn’t been strong at 13-13-5. They’re 3-5-2 in their last ten on top of that. Schenn or no Schenn (no Schenn), the Blues should have a good opportunity here to continue their new streak.
