Game Highlights:

First Period -

ZZZZZZzzz. Oh hey. Needless to say the Blues and Wild lulled everyone to sleep in the first. Shots were 8-5 in favor of the Wild. Not that anyone knew that because NBCSN had to show us how long Parise and O’Reilly were on the ice. Whatever.

Second Period -

The two teams finally started to show some life in the second. Unfortunately for the Blues, it was the Wild that found the score sheet first. With 8:25 to go in the second Jason Zucker found the back of the net thanks to a perfectly placed Eric Staal pass. 1-0 Wild.

The Blues managed to even the shots by the end of the period at 13 a piece.

Third Period -

After the Wild goal the Blues tallied the next 14 shots in a row. They also put the next goal up on the board. After the abysmal last few games on the power play, the Blues finally connected on one. Alex Pietrangelo fired one from the point. The puck deflected off a Wild player and past Wild starter Devin Dubnyk to tie the game at one.

The Blues battled back and earned a participation point. Jake Allen played well enough that the lack of offense didn’t hurt. That was until...

Overtime -

Newly acquired Ryan Donato nets the overtime winner with a great shot.

Blues steal a point, but fall short on the second. Final 2-1 Wild. Blues play again Tuesday against the Perds since the NHL schedule makers hate them.

From The Twit:

Go on...

I mean, half the team is sick and they’ve played 12 games in 20 days.

Jake Allen probably.

Player of the Game:

Anyone that stayed awake through the first. Or that attended the Gametime watch party. More the second one though.
