So the Tampa Bay Lightning are pretty good. The Bolts are 39-11-3 so far on the year, have an eight game and a seven game winning streak under their belts, and are sitting atop the Eastern Conference by a hefty 14 points.
Their top scorer is Nikita Kucherov, who has 81 points. Steven Stamkos with 61 is third on his own team. The Blues’ top scorer is Ryan O’Reilly with 53 points. Kucherov has almost THIRTY POINTS MORE than O’Reilly.
My lord, if the Bolts don’t make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, there’s very little justice in this world. However! The Blues are holding their own against the Bolts since the calendar flipped to 2019 (they have one more win), and a good bit of that is up to Jordan Binnington. Jake Allen hasn’t started since January 17th. When you look at Binnington’s record of 7-1-1, a 1.67 goals-against average, and a save percentage of .931, I guess that makes sense.
This is your GameDay Thread. Temper your expectations but don’t be too scared to have them anyway.
Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues.
