Blues at Hurricanes Game Day Thread: Storm Warning

No, really, get the snowblowers ready.

NHL: St. Louis Blues at Carolina Hurricanes James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

The Blues skadoo’d out of town at the perfect time, because Winter Storm Scott (seriously? That’s the name you choose?) is gearing up to hit Saturday. North Carolina isn’t in Scott’s path, but there’s still a storm brewing out there.

Don’t look now, but Don Cherry’s favorite team is in the second wild card spot in the East. This Bunch of Jerks have ridden their post-game celebrations to a 8-2-0 record in their last ten games, and overall a 17-10-4 home record. They may actually make the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

And this is after shipping Jeff Skinner off to the Buffalo Sabres.

The Blues are 13-1-1 in their last fifteen games and they’re five points behind the Nashville Predators for first with three games in hand on them. Tonight won’t be what we’ve come to expect from games against the ‘Canes. The return of Alexander Steen will help; Brayden Schenn would help more, but he’s up in the air.

Jake Allen starts tonight; Rookie of the Month Jordan Binnington will start tomorrow night against the Dallas Stars.

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you want the Canes to keep pissing Don Cherry off, just not tonight.

Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues.
