First Period -
Just 12 seconds in the Jets took the 1-0 lead. Brandon Tanev fired a puck off of Jordan Binnington’s skates. Adam Lowry was wide open in the slot to bury the rebound. 1-0 Jets. The Blues continue to have coverage problems in the middle of the ice. Not great Bob.
With about six and a half to go in the period, the Jets made it 2-0. Kevin Hayes dropped his shoulder and charged in. Hayes found the back of the net after Binnington stopped Hayes’ initial try.
Blues found themselves down 2 after one. Shots for the period were 15-12 in favor of the Blues.
Second Period -
No goals, but the Blues did kill off a double minor in the period. In fact the Blues held the Jets power play scoreless in the three chances. Shots in the second were 10-6 in favor of the Jets. The Blues also switched the top line to Perron/O’Reilly/Tarasenko with Schenn moving down with Schwartz and Sundqvist.
Third Period -
In the late moments of a Blues power play, Ryan O’Reilly buried a rebound to get the Blues on the board. Schenn got the initial shot on net, to which O’Reilly got the rebound past Connor Hellebuyck.
With the net being dislodged Brayden Schenn tied the game at 2. The goal was reviewed and awarded to Schenn. Here’s the explanation of the goal from the situation room.
And here’s the game tying goal.
The Blues were pushing and pushing and with 15 seconds left in the game, Jaden Schwartz completed the comeback and put the Blues ahead for good. The Jets and Blues had a scrum along the boards that the Jets actually won. The Jets couldn’t clear and Tyler Bozak fired the puck to Schwartz. Schwartz was there to put the puck in the net. Wow.
The Blues have a chance to close out the series Saturday night here in St. Louis. Will they?
Final shot totals were 31 - 29 in favor of the Jets.

Three things about the Blues/Jets series:— Gord Miller (@GMillerTSN) April 19, 2019
-for the 4th time in NHL history and the first time since 2004 the road team has won the first five games of a series
-in every game the winning team has trailed at some point
-St Louis won only once when trailing by two goals this season
