The NHL All-Star Game might be a distant memory, but the NHL Network still has some programming up their sleeve. If you have a young one at home and couldn’t make it to the game last weekend, NHL IceTime, the network’s show for kids, is featuring Jordan Binnington and Matthew Tkachuk tomorrow morning at 8:00 and 11:00 Central.
The guys break down the three-on-three play, but they also talk about the city of St. Louis.
Tkachuk in particular has some special things to say about the All-Star Weekend:
“My dad will tell you, me and my brother, we looked up to him as a dad not as an NHL player. We thought he was whatever, we were impressed with all these guys. We’re like, ‘Dad, you’re old news, we see you every day. These are the guys that are cool.’ We were so obsessed with Patrick Kane, [Alex] Ovechkin, [Sidney Crosby] didn’t play that year, but he was there. Now the face that I’m in the same locker room as them and same meal room as them, doing all the same stuff as them and being the same vet, I’m humbled and honored with the fact that I’m in the conversation for this weekend with those guys, that I’m looked upon as one of the guys that gets to participate in the All-Star Game along with the players I looked up to.”“My dad will tell you, me and my brother, we looked up to him as a dad not as an NHL player. There’s not much better than following in your father’s footsteps.
