The 2019 Stanley Cup Champion Blues reunite... via video conference

We’ve reached that stage of the quarantine.

Today should be the start of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Blues’ defense of their Stanley Cup championship. Alas, we have no sports due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and without sports, fans, networks, and leagues are desperate for content.

The NHL’s content is the #HockeyAtHome initiative, which has consisted of fun social media video clips of NHL players goofing off around the house, mostly with their kids.

Like ROR, getting into shape and working off some baby fat (not his own):

Or Vladimir Tarasenko, making every Blues fan scream “DON’T HURT YOURSELF” the second they saw him in those goalie pads:

The #HockeyAtHome hashtag has actually been kind of a fun follow in our times of trial, tribulation, and boredom.

I’m afraid that the hashtag may’ve jumped the shark, however. Tonight we get to watch the Blues have a Zoom call to talk to Jim Hughson and Kathryn Tappen.

We’re watching a Zoom call. If you’re working from home right now you’re probably very, very familiar with the potential pitfalls here, but hopefully someone’ll have a fun background to spice some things up.

We all want something close to sports, so tune in to the virtual reunion tonight at 7 via NHL.com, @NHL on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook - NBCSN will be airing it as well on the 13th.

Friday afternoon at noon Central, there will be a conference call chat with coaches Craig Berube, Rod Brind’Amour, and Rick Tocchet. If you’re missing 90s hockey, be sure to tune in.
