Up until last summer, the what ifs in Blues history loomed large. Sometimes it felt like maybe, just maybe, if one thing had gone differently, would the Blues’ve ended their Cup drought sooner?
You can fall all over yourself playing what-if. Hindsight bias is a real thing, and let’s admit it - we can predict the future as well as we can predict alternative realities. If one thing had gone differently... maybe nothing changes. Maybe everything does. Who knows?
We’ll be looking at many different what ifs this week. What if Mike Keenan never had a thing to do with the Blues franchise? What if Chris Pronger never gets shipped to Edmonton? What if the league never punishes the hell out of the Blues for Scott Stevens?
What if the Blues participate in the 1983 draft? What if they hold onto the Monday Night Miracle momentum? What if they decide to go with a center instead of a defenseman first overall in 2006?
What if is a dangerous game to play, but let’s live on the edge this week: what what if do you want to see covered the most? If you have a different suggestion, leave ‘em in the comments.
