Underdog Week: What player or team is your favorite Blues underdog?

The Blues have had so many over the years, it’s hard to pick just one.

If there’s something the Blues have always been traditionally known for, it’s being blue collar. They’re hard workers. They’re scrappy. They may not be the most talented guys or team in the NHL but what they lack in natural skill they make up with in tenacity and work ethic.

On a nearly annual basis, they get sold short by the pundits - even with a Stanley Cup under their belts, when the season started very few people picked the Blues to win the Central Division. Even their own fans - I admit, I was one of them and so were a lot of you guys - were frustrated and wrote the team off at last season’s midpoint.

Just look at the Blues litany of third and fourth liners: Mike Weaver, Jeff Woywitka, Silent Jay McClement, Scottie Upshall. There have been some pretty rag tag groups of guys that the Blues have rolled out as a squad.

Who do you feel is the Blues’ underdog of underdogs?
