There may only be four teams still playing hockey in the NHL right now, but every fanbase still has thoughts on their own team.

In the latest round of SB Nation’s Reacts survey, NHL fans were asked if they were confident their favorite team was headed in the right direction. Despite a dominant regular season, the Blues fell flat in the playoffs. Right now, half of the team’s fans have faith that next year will be different, while the other half, well, don’t.

A first-round playoff exit is a quick way to ding a fan base’s confidence, even when they’re fans of the defending (but not anymore) Stanley Cup champions. The dip in fan confidence is more than likely also caused by the uncertainty surrounding Alex Pietrangelo and his contract... or pending free agency.

Fear of losing your captain is one way for a fan base to lose more than confidence in a team’s direction.
