The Blues have released tonight’s lineup, and it’s something to get excited about:
Forwards
Schenn - O’Reilly - Perron
Schwartz - Thomas - Hoffman
Sanford - Bozak - Kyrou
Clifford - Barbashev - Sundqvist
Defense
Krug - Parayko
Scandella - Faulk
Dunn - Bortuzzo
Goalie
Binnington
With the addition of Vladimir Tarasenko to the long term injured reserve, the Blues are able to bring Jordan Kyrou and Makenzie MacEachern up from the taxi squad. Kyrou, who got extended time on the third line during scrimmages, will be in the same spot tonight. Sammy Blais will be the scratch with MacEachern on offense, while Carl Gunnarsson will be sitting out on defense.
The Blues’ back end is particularly strong right down the left side, but it’s worth noting that the top pairing, in general, is going to be the one that fans will be watching. Newcomer Torey Krug and new leadership Colton Parayko will be able to move the puck and be a problem for Colorado.
The Colorado Avalanche might be the favorites in the division right now, but an emphatic win from these lines would potentially nip all of that talk in the bud, at least for now.
