Blues at Avalanche GameDay Thread: Game On

The long wait is finally over.

The Colorado Avalanche have been in better shape. Who are they missing tonight? Why, let’s take a look:

  • Nathan MacKinnon - Covid protocol
  • Gabriel Landeskog - Suspension
  • Valeri Nichushkin - Injury
  • Andre Burakovsky - Injury (maybe)
  • Darren Helm - Injury (maybe)

That’s a lot of key players who won’t take the ice for the strongly favored Avalanche. Meanwhile, the only question mark for the Blues is David Perron, who skated this morning.

It’s still early in the season for both teams (Buffalo is currently leading the Atlantic with back to back wins, just to tell you how early it is), but points are points and wins are wins. No one wants to see anyone hurt or out with Covid-19, but if the Blues don’t capitalize on the Avs’ injuries like the Avalanche did to the Blues during the playoffs, this will be a missed opportunity.
