The NHL’s Covid-19 protocol list giveth, and it taketh away.
Honestly, it just taketh, because having Ryan O’Reilly back for the last two weeks would’ve been nice. Having Brandon Saad for his whole tenure here would’ve been swell, too.
It’s claimed those two forwards, Ville Husso, Kyle Clifford, and now Torey Krug. The team announced Krug’s shelving as well as Dakota Joshua’s send-down to the Springfield Thunderbirds to clear space for O’Reilly’s return. The team has called up defenseman Calle Rosen.
Krug was off to a Justin Faulk-style resurgence this season, scoring two goals and six assists in the first nine games.
If you’re not already used to announcements like these, get used to them quickly. This may be what hockey fans have to deal with all season.
