Blues score just 13 seconds in but it wasn’t enough to beat the Ducks.

First Period Highlights - As mentioned above the Blues scored just thirteen seconds in. The Ducks lost the puck right at the blue line. Ryan O’Reilly (Welcome back captain) kept the puck in the zone. David Perron collected the loose puck and passed it over to Brandon Saad. Saad fired the puck between the legs of John Gibson and gave the Blues a 1-0 lead.

The Blues kept the 1-0 lead into the second period...

Second Period Highlights - Colton Parayko broke his stick. That’s what started this cluster f*ck of a rush for Anaheim. The Blues had been caught on the ice. Instead of 55 going off or going over to get a new stick, someone from the Blues bench threw a new stick on the ice. Well you can’t do that. You also can’t let a guy skate in behind you. Klim Kostin tried to superman to stop a pass to said guy that skated in. That guy was Derek Grant. Grant then fed a pass to the front of the net that Sam Carrick was able to finish off. Tie game.

To the third we go...

Third Period Highlights - The Ducks took the lead on a power play goal. Troy Terry has two first names. He also has an 11 game point streak. He kept that streak alive tonight on a goal right in front of the net. Sonny Milano fed Terry the puck from behind the net. It was a perfect pass the Terry was able to finish off.

The Ducks go up 3-1 on a deflected goal from Sam Steel. The Ducks won the faceoff and Hampus Lindholm got the puck. He fired a shot towards the net that Sam Steel was able to tip in because he was wide open. Shrug emoji.

Even if you thought Perron was tripped on the empty net goal, I’m not sure it would’ve made a difference. In any event Benoit-Olivier Groulx scored his first NHL goal with the empty netter.

Blues lose 4-1. Had their chances but couldn’t beat Gibson after the first goal. Kostin hit two posts. On to Winnipeg Tuesday.

Tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

He wasn’t wrong.

They were doomed when someone mentioned they hadn’t lost in Anaheim since 2017.
