One thing that the Blues and their fans have gotten used to this season is rolling with it. Zach Sanford on the COVID-19 list? Ok, next man up. Sanford kicks back a false positive? Ok then, Sammy Blais sits. Bozak out for the second game in a row? Dakota Joshua has been impressive in his brief tenure with the team. Have him center the third line.
Oh, Robert Thomas could return tonight? Bump Joshua down and sit de la Rose. Easy peasy.
After breaking their five game losing streak (in which they still netted three points) with two back to back wins over the San Jose Sharks, the line-up tweaks don’t feel so much like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic anymore. The Blues have proven that shit happens, especially this season. The best you can do is adjust and keep on.
Vegas has to adjust too, with Alex Pietrangelo and Max Pacioretty out tonight. Here’s hoping the Blues do a better job making their tweaks than the Golden Knights do.
This is your GameDay thread. Comment like you want the defense to take it to Mark Stone.
Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues.
