Game Highlights:

First Period -

Oskar Sundqvist got the Blues on the board first tonight. John Gibson was able to deny Sundqvists first shot in front. The Ducks cleared the puck away, but the Blues kept it in the zone. David Perron found Sundqvist again. Sundqvist didn’t miss on his second chance. The Blues take the 1-0 lead on Sunny’s fourth of the year.

Shots at the end of one were 6-6.

Second Period -

Brayden Schenn kept the Blues power play perfect with his 11th goal of the season. The Blues won the faceoff. Sundqvist moved the puck over to Schenn. Sundqvist moved in front of Gibson as Schenn fired off a rocket. You can’t stop the puck if you don’t see it. 2-0 Blues midway through the second.

The Ducks scored four minutes later as Max Comtois and the Ducks got a lucky bounce. Comtois hit the post on his original bid at the net. Jordan Binnington was unable to collect the loose puck. The puck took a bounce off of Ryan O’Reilly (?) and back into the net. Ooofa.

Shots in the second were 13-7 in favor of the Ducks.

Third Period -

The Blues power play was 2 for 2 to this point in the game. Surely, they wouldn’t make it 3 for 3 would they? They for sure did and don’t call me Shirley. Zach Sanford scored goal number seven right in front of the net. Jordan Kyrou skated towards the net with the puck. Before he could do anything with the puck it was poked off his stick. Either that or he lost it. Either way the puck bounced around in front of the net. Sanford fired the loose change past Gibson for the 3-1 Blues lead.

Ricky Ricardo...er Rickard Rakell scored with about nine seconds to go for the too little too late goal of the night.

The Blues took this one 3-2. That makes eight straight wins in Anaheim for the Blues. Final shot count was 29-21 in favor of the Ducks. Next up for the Blues is the Kings on Friday night.

Tweets of the Game:

He doesn’t get nervous anymore, but he does get pissed. Binnington did again what he usually does after a not so great outing. Stopped 27 of 29 shots on net tonight.

He could tell us, but then he’d have to kill us? Even though the Ducks are atrocious, their PK is actually one of their strengths...before tonight.

And finally.
