Tuesday’s Blues/Avalanche game has been postponed

You’ll never guess why. No, wait, you will.

You may remember that the day of Wednesday’s game, the Avalanche didn’t hold their customary morning skate. One of their players, later assumed to be starting goaltender Philipp Grubauer, tested positive for COVID-19. The rest of the team had tested negative that day, so the game went on.

Today, the game’s not going on for the Avalanche. Their games through April 20th have been postponed due to multiple players landing on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list.

Of course, the team that they were scheduled to play on April 20th? The St. Louis Blues.

The Blues will be in Arizona tomorrow night to close out the season series against the Coyotes in a very important game. They’ll have to wait until at least April 22nd for their rematch against the Avalanche. The NHL will release the dates for the Avs’ re-scheduled games at a later time.

Here’s hoping that playing the Avalanche/Blues game on Wednesday night was a good call.
