Blues at Avalanche GameDay Thread: Blues have to find a way to hold off the hottest team in the NHL

Tonight’s going to be a tall order.

NHL: St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Avalanche are 10-0-2 in their last 12 games. They average 3.63 goals per game. They are not afraid to throw everything they have at you, quite literally:

On the upside Ivan Barbashev is back in the lineup, more than likely on the fourth line with Kyle Clifford and Tyler Bozak. That’s a definitive upgrade to some of the fourth lines of necessity fans have seen recently. Sneaking a puck past Phillip Grubauer is going to be tough, regardless of which line tries to do it. He’s tops in the league in GAA and third in save percentage, a beneficiary of the Avalanche’s solid defense.

Here’s to hoping a healthy Barbashev and a near to return Colton Parayko are enough to motivate the Blues to tack on a couple wins this weekend in Colorado. Ruining the Avs’ hot streak would be a great way for the Blues to get back on a hot streak of their own.

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you want to go party with Barby.

Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues
