Golden Knights at Blues GameDay Thread: Pietrangelo Returns

This might be weird for the first five minutes.

NHL: MAR 13 Golden Knights at Blues

The last time that the Vegas Golden Knights were in town, former Blues captain Alex Pietrangelo was injured. He missed his first homecoming, but he won’t miss tonight’s.

Get ready for a tribute video with lots of shots from the 2019 Cup run and parade. Get ready for stick taps and cheers and maybe even a tear or two. And then get ready for stuff to go right back to normal. This is hockey, and trades happen; there’s no reason for extra sentimentality past the “Thank You Petro” chyrons on the JumboTron and the standing ovation.

It’s tough to lose a player like Petro, but St. Louis sports teams have lost far, far worse.

What’s really tough to lose, especially this time of year, is six games in a row. The Blues have managed that inauspicious task, sliding out of playoff contention. They very nearly broke their streak Saturday night thanks to Ville Husso.

After much speculation, it looks like Husso’s in net tonight. Boy howdy, did Berube give Blues Twitter something to discuss after this morning’s skate:

Absolutely fair, and more than likely the right move. It’s hard not to reward a goalie for a game like that.

Berube also dropped these gems:

By Gawd, is that a goalie controversy’s music?

No. No it’s not, but I’m sure someone’ll turn it into that.

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you don’t care who’s in net, just that you want a W.

Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues.
