The St. Louis Blues signed forward Keean Washkurak to a three-year, entry-level contract on Tuesday. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong made the announcement.
The Blues originally selected Washkurak with the 155th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft. He’s a 5-foot-10, 185-pound center.
Washkurak spent the majority of the 2020-21 season in Levice, Slovakia, playing for the HK Levice of the Slovak 1. Liga. He recorded 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) and 110 penalty minutes in 21 regular season games and 26 penalty minutes in four postseason contests.
Before playing overseas, Washkurak played three seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League. He recorded 114 points (44 goals, 70 assists) and 152 penalty minutes in 176 regular season games.
Washkurak is a native of Kitchener, Ontario. He was born in Waterloo, Ontario on August 16, 2001. He’s 19 years old as of today.
