Will the Blues trade any of their five draft picks tonight? Is Vladimir Tarasenko on the move (or maybe staying in St. Louis after all)? Will this year’s draft be an uneventful Zoom call or a chaotic mess? Who’s to say.
The Blues have five picks tonight: 6th overall (technically 17th, but the Coyotes are forfeiting their 11th overall selection) in round one, then 81st overall in round three, 145th overall in round five, 177 in round six, and 198th overall in round seven. Those are, of course, the picks as of now. Nothing’s stopping Armstrong from wheeling and dealing. Will we see another blockbuster fleecing like the one that brought Brayden Schenn to St. Louis? Will some picks and prospects get shifted around so the Blues can move up in the draft?
Who knows, and that’s the fun of the NHL draft. Come for the prospects, stay for the trades.
This is your Draft Day Thread. Discuss the picks and trades, and hang around for some analysis of who the Blues select 16th (but technically 17th) overall. Come back by tomorrow for even more analysis of day two of the draft.
