Blues fans might be concerned about flashy unrestricted free agents like Jaden Schwartz, Tyler Bozak, and Mike Hoffman, but the Blues had a different pending UFA in mind to sign this weekend.

The Blues have signed depth forward Nathan Walker to a two-year, two-way contract worth $700,000 in the NHL and $300,000 in the AHL. Walker played in eight games this year for the Blues, scoring one goal. The 27 year old left wing was born in Cardiff, Wales and grew up in Australia. The first Australian to play in the NHL, Walker began his career with the Washington Capitals before being picked up on waivers by the Edmonton Oilers in 2017 before being re-claimed by the Capitals en-route to their first franchise Stanley Cup win.

Walker proved to be useful depth for the Blues last season as a member of the taxi squad, stepping in when needed and playing well on the fourth line.
