The training camp period before the pre-season is shorter than usual this season. This is thanks to the necessity of starting the year a bit later than normal because of Covid pushing back last season. Camp starts on Thursday, Traverse City is wrapping up, and the prospects’ camp session got rolled into their tournament to streamline the schedule.
Fans are anxious to get back to being able to attend Blues’ hockey games, and if you want to go to a full regular season game, your first shot isn’t until October 23rd. If you’re ok with pre-season hockey, your first chance is this Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild. If you’re really hankering for hockey, you’ll be able to attend some of the Blues’ training camp. Camp begins Thursday at the Centene Community Ice Center on the USA rink. All practices hosted on that rink will be open to the public; all practices hosted on the Blues’ rink will not be.
Thursday’s sessions begin at 9:30, with Team 1’s practice session followed by Team 2’s at noon. Friday’s sessions begin at 10 AM with Team 2, and is followed by Team 1’s session at 11:30. Each practice session will last about half an hour.
If you’re planning on attending, it’ll be helpful to know which of the Blues will be joining you that day. Here’s the roster for the first weekend of camp - keep in mind, it will be trimmed as pre-season goes on.
