ST. LOUIS — When the San Francisco Giants visit the Cardinals next year, one of the games will be the Field of Dreams game, The Chronicle has learned. Final details for the event, which The Chronicle reported last month is expected to be played at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala., will be announced this week. It’s a special venue for the Giants: Willie Mays played there when Rickwood Field was home of the Birmingham Black Barons, Mays’ Negro Leagues team, from 1948-50.
